Jessee Crane is a multidisciplinary sculptor, arts administrator and musician based in New Douglas, Illinois. She received her BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2012 and is currently a MFA candidate in Sculpture at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She is the director of Rose Raft an artist and musician’s residency founded in 2013. Her most recent series of work titled SO REAL focuses on perceptions of derealization or sensations of unreality. The works are constructed from aluminum foil, light and sound and suggest alien-like landscapes viewed through a magnifying lens. As a nationally touring musician she performs regularly with her bands The Funs and Swear Beam.
